What is the Creator Faire?

The Creator Faire is a maker-type event for the entire Petaluma/Sonoma County community. There are over 40 different “creator stations”, each offering a hands-on experience in the arts and sciences.

Some examples of past ART stations include: painting kindness rocks with Petaluma Rocks, stonemasonry sculpting with Hamilton Stoneworks, anime drawing with 12-year-old artist Jovie, swirly paper card-making with Pretty Paper, rhythm and drumming with Music to my Ears, and projection muraling, potato stamping, Mandala chalk-drawing, face painting and more with River Montessori parent volunteers.

Some examples of past SCIENCE stations include: driving robots with Northern California Chapter of the Mars Society, coding and animation with Steve & Kate’s Camp, building with Lego with Play-Well TEKnologies, making beeswax lip gloss with Families Advocating for Chemical and Toxics Safety, mess making with middle school entrepreneur Haven and her business Mermaid Slime 4U and oobleck with River Montessori parent volunteers plus more like launching paper rockets and picking about gadgets.

Just over 70 River Montessori family volunteers and over 20 community member volunteers worked together to make the event possible. The feedback from over 500 guests in 2018 was overwhelmingly positive and people are already looking forward to volunteering and participating again this year. Learn more about past events here.

Are my preschool-age or younger children welcome to attend?

Yes! The Creator Faire is a family-friendly event, great for all ages. There is a toddler room with play-dough smashing, block building, mess-free painting and other color combining, art and experimental fun!

How can I help?

There are many ways you can help, including providing food to sell (concessions is an RMF fundraiser), hosting a table which you’ve designed, running a table that we’ve designed, helping with set-up or cleanup, or participating in the planning process.  Email Amy at rivercreatorfaire@gmail.com for more information or to get involved.

What if I have an idea for something cool to do at the Creator Faire?

We love new ideas and your enthusiasm!  Contact Amy at rivercreatorfaire@gmail.com with your ideas.

When & where is the Creator Faire?

What does it cost?

Donations of $7 per person or $25 per family are appreciated and help to cover costs; however, the purpose of the event is to provide an enrichment experience for ALL families. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
